HEY HEY HEY!!! WHAT UP. MY NAME IS PAULIE AKA DJ ALEXANDER PAUL (STILL WORKING ON THE NAME FOR MYSELF. GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS!!! I been a house head since i was about 7 or 8 years old when the early Chicago HOT MIX 5 dj crew was tearing up the radio waves in Chicago on Friday and Saturday nights!!! i played around trying to spin when i was like 13 or 14 with 2 technics belt drive record players (not even turntables, they were more like record players) and a cheap as hell Radio Shack mixer. I couldnt afford to buy records to keep up with the music so i stopped spinning. Then i picked it back up when i was like 19, i bought a used dj set of 2 Gemini DD1800 XL's and a Gemini Scratchmaster mixer. it was a tight as hell looking setup being all black, but the Gemini's werent 1200's thats for sure, BUT i didnt know any better being that they were all i had played on. Well I did that for 2 months and once again i couldnt keep up with the records at the time, i was working at a pizza place delivering so i wasnt making money, cuz i was going to college so i only worked part time and with a car payment and insurance, well lets say i was poor!!! Well then i started to get into dogs and started breeding pit bulls, and then i became serious about it, so i sold my tables and mixer to buy a TOP ;QUALITY stud Dog a Blue and White American Pit bull Terrier, He made me lots of money and produced several Champion Show dogs off of his litters.
I regretted selling my tables to buy him ( his name is Blue, Lil ;Boy Blue to be exact), well i regretted selling my tables adn stuff but i never regretted buying him, i ;just wish i could have found another way to buy him!! Cuz now im set back 10+ years of experience. We that brings me to my current status. I saved up some $$ and bought myself a nice setup, 2=technics 1200's, A 2 channel Numark mixer, flight case, new laptop and 500 gig external hard drive to store my music, serato scratch live, a Yamaha stereo receiver, with 2 Yamaha book shelf ; monitor type speakers, a Paradigm double 10" subwoofer, 100 watt self powered subwoofer and the system beats!!!!! Sounds Tremendous!! I shake and rattle the walls and not even halfway turned up. ;I also had saved all my vinyl from the first round of spinning till now and bought alot of used records from people along the way adn i have a big collection of records of house from the 80's til today and all different types of house!! ;I bought the ION Audio USB turntable that allows me to convert my vinyl to mp3. Its pretty cool, But i also bought this Ikey Audio box that will record my mixes live for me and copy them to any USB storage device (usb stick, Hard drive) as I mix live. I can also connect a turntable to it and it will convert my vinyl to mp3 also. This lil box is bad ass!! Definitely invest in one!! it can be portable battery powered, or plugged into the wall. The portableness of this box is pretty sweet so if your spinning at a club you can record your mix for your memories!!! So this go round of spinning is definintely IT!! im taking it serious this time and hope to go to the next level and be professional. Ive been going for a lil over 6 months and im happy to say that ive got skillz and improving every day!!!
